Man cuts brothers neck in Onitsha (Advisory: gory site)

Situations like the one about to be described below in this story is what asserts the popular saying that ‘the heart of man is desperately wicked and who can know it?’ Or how would you describe a scenario where man uses a sharp tearing object to slit the throat of his own blood brother? Like some will say, ‘end time things’.
A mother in Onitsha, in Anambra State, was left in grieve by one of her sons when her child killed another child of hers during a fight that ensued between the brothers.
Maybe if the poor woman had known that one of her sons would slaughter the other like a chicken, she would have quickly looked for an avenue to make one of them stay away from the vicinity, but that was not the case.
On Monday, September 16, 2013, a fight ensued between these two brothers at Bida road in Onitsha over trivial issue and one of them took a sharp object and slit the other’s throat and left him to struggle for his life.
But the victim couldn’t survive the battle to retain his soul from death due to a heavy loss of blood. Meanwhile, the alleged murderer is now at large.

BON to honour veteran actors

Veteran thespians, Pete Edochie and Lanre Hassan popularly known as Iya Awero, are beside themselves with excitement with the announcement, this week, that they would be honoured with the coveted Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan Special Recognition Award at this year's Best of Nollywood awards. In a telephone chat with the organisers, Edochie, a star of many home videos, expressed his excitement with the recognition, saying, "I feel happy that the little we have done is being recognised by the current generation. It is a thing of joy considering also that it is a special recognition award from a prestigious award ceremony as BON and endowed by a progressive governor as Governor Uduaghan. I am indeed very elated by it. See you in November." On her part, Iya Awero, who recently celebrated her 50th year anniversary as an actress whose odyssey dates back to the travelling theatre days before the advent of television soaps and then, home videos, lauded the organisers for the recognition and the Delta State Governor particularly for his support of Nollywood. "That this special recognition is coming the same year that I celebrated my 50th year anniversary as an actress is very significant for me. I want to thank the organisers of BON for this honour and to especially thank Governor Uduaghan for his immense support of Nollywood since he became governor. With more people like him, Nollywood would be a bigger pride for us all," Iya Awero said. Adducing reasons for Edochie and Iya Awero's selection as the recipients of the Governor Uduaghan Special Recognition Award, the executive producer of BON, Seun Oloketuyi, said, "Since the inception of BON, we have made it a cardinal part of the event to celebrate elders whose arts have catalysed the growth and global acceptance that Nollywood enjoys today. We don't want to wait until these veterans are dead to give them post humous awards, which is why we endeavour to celebrate them while they are still very alive and active. Besides, this year's honourees are a source of inspiration to young actors because of their longevity and continued relevance in the industry." Now in its 5th year, the Best of Nollywood awards has evolved into arguably Nollywood's most respected reward platform. The 2013 edition holds in November in Asaba, Delta State.

@GbemiOO: They used to send us a list of NTBB (Not to be broadcast songs) . Recently they said they will not send any list anymore"

The above tweets are that of popular Beat FM 99.9, Lagos Presenter Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi(second pix above).

She just revealed the move by broadcast censors body Nigerian Broadcasting Commission(NBC).

We can't say much about Phyno "Man of the Year" as it's mostly rendered in Igbo language, (maybe our Igbo friends can help us if the lyrics is that bad), but Wizkid's "The Matter" featuring Maleek Berry indeed has some offensive lyrics.

"Back 2 d matter, open and close, touch your toes, baby Oya Yodi".

Wizkid is talking about some explicit stuff here, as in some sex positions!

But what has NBC been doing for close to a year that this song has been on air? Now, almost everybody has it on their phones.

Besides, there are countless number of songs currently rotating on our radio and TV stations today with worst lyrics.

NBC needs to do better than this!

It may also interest you to know that since both songs have videos, the ban will apply to TV stations as well.

Kemi Olunloyo backs Fani-Kayode, blasts Bianca

Read her statement below

MY STATEMENT ABOUT BIANCA OJUKWU'S LAWSUIT AGAINST FEMI FANI-KAYODE (FFK)

Why Bianca is lying about her relationship with Femi Fani Kayode (FFK) during her late teens is perplexing. In the early 80's there were a group of now affluent Nigerians that flocked together as teens in London, Oxford, Cambridge in the UK and even Wales.

We were teen couples. I dated Segun Cole, Lanre Tejuoso and Moji Okoya, Toyin Ojora and Bukola Saraki all became prominent married couples today. The Folawiyos, Adenirans, Lawrence twins, Olunloyo sisters and more as well as the Fani Kayode's were all known. Everyone knows about Femi and Governor Onoh's daughter.

I'm a daughter of a governor too and we all know each other. I've seen Bianca Onoh at numerous social events with Femi and even Femi's apartments in London, UK and these two almost got Married!!! Whatever teen to young adults do in a relationship, namely sex, dating, kissing etc, Femi and Bianca did too.

I wasn't with them in their intimate moments but are we this immature to say that they have never even met? Femi does not like fighting women in public domains be it in person or online, in fact he fights for women and once took my back in a situation where a male demeaned me with lies. Femi is a faithful husband and a damn good father to his children.
