It is no news that Ghana was agog last weekend when American
acts Keri Hilson and Bow Wow concert last Saturday. The event also had many
Nigerians in flying to Ghana to attend. Though the show was a huge success,
actress Mzbel, was not the better for it. She simply did not turn up on stage
when she was called by MCs for the night, Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh and
actor James Gardner.
Though an actress, Mzbel was put on the bill to perform her
song. She, like many actors have been trying her hands with music. She was
confirmed to be at the backstage waiting to perform but simply did not appear
on stage when it was her turn to sing. This made the audience go wild as they
yelled her name, just wanting to see her do her thing.
When her name was mentioned, the DJ started playing her song
but after a while, when she didn't come out, the DJ stopped and started playing
a different song. Since she was not a musician per se, some thought that she
had stage fright when she was the crowd she was to perform to.
A few minutes after the incident, Mzbel took to social network
twitter to explain herself: “My dancers performed with an artiste right before
me and were not done changing to perform with me.” The excuse, we gather has
not gone down well with fans who had paid, over N10,000 to see the show.
