Lola Alao premiers movie


Lola Alao has been silent for a while, this is due to the extensive work she is doing on her movie. In a chat with me the movie is set to premier.  The beautiful Kogi born says she is set to premier her movie ‘Shikemi oluwa’ . She puts the date as May 6th. According to her,  it is going to be the most classy Nollywood event ever as we are taking our time to give guests the best event apart from the fact that the movie is a great movie.  For her its will be a double whammy, as she will also be simultaneously opening her new restaurant.

Street Dance this year will be bumper – Deji Falope

 Deji Falope’s career as a television presenter has been a very smooth and upward looking. Starting from Galaxy Tv, NTA and then to MTN Yello show which gave him instant fame. He later , moved to Soundcity where he had his own show. He currently is the host of Malta Guiness Dance show, which with his hippy sense have created a show youth all over the country are addicted to. Today he is also a successful business with is Bodat Royal Ventures. His smooth life however had a hiccup when his relationship with his former lover Devine Logico, went awry. The break up led to a nasty court case. In this interview, with Hazeez Balogun, Deji could not speak about the relationshio since the case is still in court, but he spoke about his career and life after Devine.

Actress cum singer Anita Joseph had a huge inscription on her left arm some months back, now from her recent picture placed online, the tattoo is gone and a huge scare is in it’s place.
It’s gathered that in her bid to remove the tattoo with a surgical erasing treatment she developed huge scars over where the tattoo had been.
A tattoo buff Anita is said to also have one on her boobs and another one on her back. Anita is not new to scandals
A Linguistic graduate of the University of Calabar, Anita burst into the movie scene with a series of significant roles buoyed also by her unconventional dress sense on and off screen. About two years ago, she veered into music as part of what she describes as her constant communication with God. Bothe her music and movie careers are not really active these days

Sokoto pays N45m salary to beggers

The Sokoto State government spends between N44 and 45 million on the payment of beggars allowances in the state monthly, Governor Aliyu Wamakko has said.

Wamakko in an interview said he introduced the payment of allowances to the beggars four years ago to alleviate their sufferings.

“We are spending between N44 and 45 million monthly on the payment of allowances to beggars in the state. Each of them earns N6,500 monthly. We devised this means to address the issue of Almajiri/ beggars on our streets. I believe they should be respected, they should be taken care of and they should be made to feel loved,” he said.


Nigerian wins 3 medals at Pre-Olympics

 Augustina Nwaokolo, has just won 3 gold medals for Nigeria in women's weightlifting at the African Qualifying series for the London 2012 Olympic Games, which is taking place right now in Kenya. In 2010, she won the first gold medal of the Delhi Commonwealth Games in India.

 Gidi Traffic harnesses his more than 16,000 followers to send out his reports
The identity of the tweeter Gidi Traffic, who informs motorists in Nigeria's largest city Lagos of traffic jams, has been revealed to the BBC.
This has been a "a long-age mystery" since the Twitter account was set up last September, Gidi Traffic said.
"My name is Kaptin Idoko and I am Gidi Traffic," he told the BBC in New York.

Veteran actor, Prince James Uche who has been battling diabetes and hypertension that left him almost bedridden for two years now is homeless at the moment.
The tough-talking actor has been kicked out of their Gbagada, Lagos residence by his wife, Ekene who claimed to be tired of running the affairs of their family all alone.
The displaced actor is currently squatting in a white-garment-Church, located near his former Gbagada home in Lagos. He is calling on all well-meaning Nigerians to come to his rescue.

Tables turn, 2 Brits arrested for forging Nigerian passport

For forging Nigeria's visa, two Britons have been arraigned by the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Ian Cunliff and Ofir More were on Wednesday arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos on charges of visa fraud.
They were alleged to have forged the expatriate quota approval with reference number MIA/B/3939/1/41 on September 28, 2011.
According to the prosecution, they forged the signature of the Director, Citizenship and Business of the Ministry of Interior, Adetayo Sode.
The 16-count criminal charge, FHC/L/54c/12, which was brought before Justice Binta Murtala-Nyarko, by D.I Babale, a Nigerian Immigration Service legal officer, also added three companies as co-defendants in the case.
The three companies are C25 Nigeria limited, WTC International Holdings Nigeria Limited and WTC UK Limited.
Murtala-Nyarko fixed hearing in the case for May 24, 2012.

Many a resident had dutifully used them as prescribed by their trusted physicians and wondered why the drugs failed to deliver on promise, as they did not get any better.
This may well be the reason: No fewer than 84.6 per cent of anti-malarial drugs sold in Lagos State are sub-standard, a research carried out by the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos, on 13 brands of Artesunate-amodiaquine combinations, also known as Artemisin Combination Therapy, bought from pharmacies in the state has shown.

Nigerian to die by hanging in Malaysia

 A high court in Malaysia has sentenced a Nigerian man, Sylvester Okole to death by hanging for drug trafficking.
 The Nigerian, was found guilty of drug trafficking two years ago but the sentence was read yesterday.
 NigeriaNewsdesk reports that Judicial commissioner, Mohammed AdbulWahab, announced the sentence to the 33-year-old Nigerian who was charged with trafficking 11.58kg of Marijuana and was arrested by local police officers at Platform 8, Shahab Perdana bus terminal in Malaysia at 9pm on October 7, 2010.
 According to reports, when the sentence was related to the convicted Nigerian by a court interpreter, he did not look worried.
 Sylvester Okole, who wore a white T-shirt and a black pair of trousers to the court proceedings was represented by B. Murthy, while the Deputy Public

Only 10% passed Enlish in NECO

 Out of the 104,187 candidates that sat for English Language in the November/December Senior School Certificate Examinations of the National Examinations Council, only 10, 457 passed at credit level.
This represents 9.44 per cent of the candidates who took this examination.
And it is not only English Language that was affected in the examinations that the management of NECO released its results on Wednesday.
Announcing  the results, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NECO, Prof. Promise Okpalla, said only mathematics and Arabic Studies had slight improvement when compared with the results for last year.
Out of 110,590 candidates who registered for Mathematics, 45,547 passed at credit level.
This represents 41.19 per cent.
